Face and lip fillers (dermal fillers) are substances injected into your face. They fill lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as your lips or cheeks.
Fillers are not permanent. How long they last depends on things like the type of filler and where it’s injected. They usually last between 6 and 18 months.
Most dermal fillers used in the UK contain a natural substance called hyaluronic acid.
If you have fillers, the rest of your face will continue to age as normal.
How long will the results last? Up to 12-18 months depending on the area treated – individual results vary.
There are many different types of dermal fillers and many different brands. We mainly work with …………………… range for the outstanding properties that it holds. Most types of dermal filler are composed of Hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid naturally exists within the skin giving volume, shape, hydration and elasticity. Hyaluronic acid has minimal risk of reactions and is more readily accepted by the body than other silicone or collagen fillers.
For certain dermal filler procedures topical anaesthetic is first applied and left to numb the skin for 20-30 minutes. A numbing injection can be given to numb the area further, although this is rarely required. The dermal filler is then injected into the area required using a very fine needle or blunt ended cannula. Results can be seen immediately after dermal filler treatments and generally last up to 12 months or longer.
Dermal fillers can be used to treat different areas of the face, including the lips, chin, jaw, cheeks, forehead and nose, and are ideal for dealing with specific issues such as loss of volume, deep lines, tear troughs, and jowls.
